MINDFULNESS

Michaella Tettey
Assistant Psychologist

Michaella is an aspiring clinical psychologist with diverse clinical experience supporting individuals across the lifespan — varying from young children (aged 4+) to older adults.

She has worked in both Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and currently supports adult mental health services in Manchester.

Grounded in the core values of respect, equity, compassion, and integrity, Michaella brings both personal insight and professional dedication to her work. Her journey from Ghana to the UK — first as an international student and now as an overseas member of NHS staff, has shaped her deep commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).

She currently serves as a co-lead for the Ethnically Diverse Support Forum in the Wigan Borough under the Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH) NHS Trust. In this role, Michaella champions the wellbeing and professional development of ethnically diverse staff, particularly overseas professionals. Her work focuses on helping staff settle into life in the UK, build networks, access support for navigating racism, and foster a strong sense of community.

Michaella’s contributions to EDI have earned her recognition across the Trust. She was nominated as an ‘Unsung Hero’ at her hospital’s staff recognition awards and, along with her team, was shortlisted for the ‘Inclusive Leader’ award at the 2025 GMMH Staff Awards.
